This was an app built to test out the Telegram Bot Platform. Which is awesome and well ahead of it's time! However, the user base of telegram is very fragmented, and there is still no direct method to monetize, so we discontinued the service.

We built this for Facebook Messenger to try out multiplayer games within Messenger.

The game has two parts:

• singleplayer mode The game picks english words and shows you a random funny GIF picture. Get points by guessing the word. If you don't know, we'll show you hints like a definition, or synonyms for that word.

• multiplayer mode You are in a room with other players, and together have to guess the game. You can chat away and just use the game as an excuse to make friends! If you get it right, you both get points - it's a cooperative model, not competitive.

ComicEnglish was a mobile app to learn english, with a web based chat that we built.

In developing ComicEnglish we created a framework for Graphical Chat. We built our own client code nearly a year before facebook messenger platform was announced.

As conversational UIs advance, we're going to see features from buttons and sliders, to task lists, and eventually fully interactive embedded widgets for complex interactivity.

A chatbot will handle interviews over wechat. A basic screening process can be totally automated, and we can find people suitable roles from the database of employers, and do efficient matching. Uses IBM watson for basic personality profiling. If it looks like there's a match, we can ping the employer and a human can step in and take over the interview, and answer real questions the candidate may have. Because it happens inside the WeChat messaging app, even if the interview isn't continued immediately, the connection is not lost.

A helpful lawyer chatbot. With a step through interview, the bot can help you draw up basic contracts. It can also review your contracts and compare them to a corpus to see how standard or unusual they are.

After the basic questions and legal drudge work, a real lawyer could step in and continue the chat when the matters get too complex for the bot to automate.

Built for Slack at a hackathon in SF, we won a prize from GupShup.

The "FinBot" was a demo of a financial advisor, built for a CapitalOne hackathon. This was before facebook messenger or other platforms supported chatbots, so we built our own web client too.

CollabClub allows you to post questions to a metateam that spans multiple Slack groups. Cross Team collaboration. It also pulls in answers from StackOverflow right into your slack team. Very useful!

This was built for the Launch Hackathon 2015 and won the Slack prize.

Pipes across teams

• You can post questions to channels that span multiple teams.
• If an expert on another channel answers one of your questions, we create a "pipe" that connects the two of you in a private DM conversation.
• If you like their answer, reward them with some bounty afterwards!

Bounty feature

If you have credits on your account you can offer a bounty for someone answering your question, and they'll gain those points on answering.

Doc Viewer

• The bot will look on StackOverflow for the answers, or allow you to post the question to relevant meta-channels.
• It allows you to look at Documentation for different languages. Lookup javascript or SQL docs inline.
• Shout command goes out to everyone in the channel
• Reputation allows you to add bounty to questions

CamperBot is a full featured bot for that integrates with FreeCodeCamp, the largest online bootcamp in the world, where he supports more than 60,000 daily users in the main chatroom.

Gamified Points system

Gamify your chat! When users thank each other, the bot will track this and send karma points. In our case this is also linked to an external API for the main FreeCodeCamp site, so the point system of the site is used inside the chat.

Github Wiki Integration

Gitterbot can pull entries from a projects github wiki right into the main chat. This means you can have a growing knowledge based that's associated with your project be instantly available. You can search for articles in a projects github wiki

Share wiki summaries in chat

Use explain to pull a wiki summary right into the chat: Many chatbots are for the user to talk to 1:1. But this gitterbot is designed to support user:user chats, much like a teacher's assistant. He will make repetive tasks easier. Often the same question comes up again and again, so you can just ask the bot to explain the point to another user.

Fixed messages

A simple regex tool makes this quickly customizable. Based on scannable expressions, send messages into the chat.
